As people increasingly expand into natural habitats, encounters with wildlife become more frequent. Jäägriabi helps in these situations across Tallinn, Harju County and Pärnu — we capture animals that wander into urban areas, remove dead wildlife and advise on how to handle the animal safely.

Live capture and release
We catch rodents and small wild animals found in gardens using live traps and release them safely in the wild. We also catch troublesome moles, water voles and Spanish slugs.

Beaver dams
We dismantle beaver dams and manage beaver populations where necessary and by agreement.

Removal of deceased animals
Safe removal of wild animals killed on roads and carcasses found near private homes.

Helping birds
We catch birds trapped in buildings, assist injured birds and help prevent nesting problems in spring.

Beaches and small islands
Removal of birds and animals washed ashore, and management of fox and raccoon dog populations on small islands.

The most common situations with wild animals in the city, garden and on the road — and how we help.
I found a dead wild animal in the city — what should I do?
Call us and we will remove it. We handle the removal of wild animals killed in the city: a dead fox, roe deer, badger, raccoon dog, wild boar, pine marten or any animal hit by a car is removed safely. We also collect dead birds (seagulls, storks, swans) from roads and beaches.
There's a wild animal in my garden or yard?
A fox, badger, raccoon dog, roe deer, hare or even an elk in the yard is not unusual. Don't try to catch the animal yourself — we assess the situation and find a safe solution. An unknown wild animal in the garden or a horned animal in the city is our job.
Do you also catch snakes?
Yes, snake catching is part of our work. If an adder, grass snake or other snake is moving around your garden, we help catch and relocate it safely. A snake on the road or in the garden may need a specialist.
There's been an accident involving a wild animal — who do I call?
An accident with a roe deer, elk, wild boar, badger, fox, raccoon dog, hare or bird — call us. We help animals hit by cars and assess their condition.
A wild animal is under the house or in the attic?
A pine marten in the attic or vent box, foxes and badgers under the house, and a wild animal's den under the house are common call-outs. We catch the animal alive in a trap and take it back to nature. A mole or water voles in the garden are also our job.
What should I do with an injured or sick animal in the city?
An injured, bleeding, hairless or mange-infected animal (fox, raccoon dog, wild boar, elk, hare, roe deer) needs professionals. Don't try to catch the animal yourself — we have traps and the right equipment.
Who removes a dead animal from the beach?
Carcasses on the seashore — a dead seal, bird, animal, swan or a wild animal washed ashore — are removed safely by us. A drowned bird by the sea or a dead animal on the beach is also our job.
Do you catch animals alive?
Yes, live capture of wild animals in traps is our core work. Ungulates in the city are caught in live traps and then safely returned to nature.
